A Dreamy and Eclectic Engagement Celebration

In August of 2025, I had the pleasure of planning and designing Zach & Katie’s engagement party. The bride-to-be had requested a semi-formal affair with a home-grown, vintage flair. The party was hosted at the parents’ home of the groom-to-be, an almost turn-key event venue with open patio space surrounded by nature and a bar drawing design inspiration from old pubs.

Suffice to say, it was the perfect location to incorporate dreamy and vintage elements with an eclectic, elegant vibe for a perfect summer celebration.

A Floral Affair

To achieve a classic vintage look, I collected an assortment of colored flower vases and brass candle holders from secondhand shops, friends-of-friends, and online marketplaces. We’re all for sustainable sourcing here. Paired with fire-safe electic candles and wildflowers from the farmer’s market, we brought her Pinterest board to life for our focal piece — the dining room table.

And what’s a party without a gorgeous charcuterie board?

Lastly, the hallmark of elegance and fit for the couple’s love for seafare, we brought in a delicious, fresh raw bar.

The Personal Touches

Zach and Katie have been together for seven years. We wanted to showcase their love over the years through photographs encased in secondhand frames, leading the guest to the custom deck of cards at the end, which let them write a message for the happy couple

The couple has two dogs, who sadly were unable attend the affair. So I brought them in the best way I knew how - custom martinis that capture each of their personalities. The Ernie-tini and Jojo-tini were amongst our most popular orders.

Overall, it was a beautiful evening complemented by perfect summer weather and dancing until midnight to ABBA. I love love!
